I live in the heart of beautiful East Lothian, with my other half, Alice, our excitable collie, George, and our lively brood of chickens.
After an extensive career spent in Edinburgh’s upmarket hospitality industry, I felt it was time to move in a different direction and find a career that I had a real interest in and that put a real smile on my face at the end of the working day. I was inspired to start up Wags and Walkies and although daunting at first, it has been a great adventure so far and I've never been happier!
I have always had a passion for dogs and on any given day, it is rare to find me doing anything that isnt dog-related in some way. Working with dogs on a daily basis and seeing them respond, learn and grow gives me a sense of satisfaction that I have rarely known in any other job. I dont even mind the snow and rain these days! For years, I have been volunteering to look after friend's dogs whenever they went on holiday or were ill or had an engagement and now I am lucky enough to have a job that pays me to do exactly that!
I have customers that use my services several days every week, some that I see once a week and others that I only see occasionally.
In addition to my own lifelong domestic experience with various animals, I am currently studying a diploma in Animal Care, Welfare and Husbandry in order to broaden my expertise and increase my level of professional training. I am police checked and fully insured with all paperwork available on request. I am also endorsed by East Lothian Council on their Approved Dog Walker Scheme.
